Whatsapp will not run these operating systems from 31 December 2018
Whatsapp is one of the most widely used messaging app in the world. It has been crooned by millions of people on both the Play Store or Apple Store platforms. But there is bad news for the users who use Whatsapp on their phone’s old operating system version. Whatsapp has released a list of operating systems which will stop working on December 31, 2018.
According to the information given by Whatsapp, users who are still using the Nokia S40 operating system. They will not be able to use Whatsapp in their phone, because, WhatsApp will not develop new features for these phones. Along with it, it is reported that some features of WhatsApp app can stop running on mobile phones working on the Nokia S40.
Apart from this, WhatsApp will not work even after February 1, 2020, on the iPhone running on iOS7 and Android version 2.3.7 and earlier operating systems. WhatsApp says that the company will not develop new features for these platforms, due to which some of its features will stop working automatically. Whatsapp says that when it focuses on the next seven years, its focus is on the mobile phones that are being used by more and more people.
In this case, if your phone works on Nokia S40 or earlier operating system and you still want to use WhatsApp, then you have to get a new phone. Apart from this, if your phone has an option of upgrading the operating system, then you can use Whatsapp.
Earlier, on December 31, 2017, WhatsApp was discontinued for ‘Blackberry OS’, ‘BlackBerry 10’, ‘Windows Phone 8.0’ and the rest of the platforms.
